INKS 005 - Inukshuk

Day 5 – Focus on the Good

There’s a quiet strength in today’s piece.

This Inukshuk, painted in light stone tones and gentle washes, feels like a moment of stillness. A reminder that you don’t have to be loud or bold to be powerful. That balance and clarity can exist in simplicity. (Watch the video here)

The Inukshuk (pronounced in-ook-shook) is a traditional stone marker used by Indigenous peoples of the Arctic, especially the Inuit. These stacked stone figures served as guides in the landscape—helping travelers find their way, marking sacred or important spots, and symbolizing community, direction, and care.

To me, they represent quiet resilience. The kind that holds space. The kind that says, “You’re not alone—someone walked this path before you.”

And that spirit is echoed in today’s quote:
“When you focus on the good, the good increases.”

This soft, earthy Inukshuk is my way of stacking the good—piece by piece, layer by layer. Of pausing to remember that beauty exists even in the still moments. That creativity, even when quiet, ripples outward.

This is Day 5 of my 20 Days of Ink, a celebration of daily art and connection leading up to the Ink & Blooms 5-Day Challenge (starting April 21st!). If you’re feeling the pull to create, to reconnect, or to just sit with something beautiful—you’re already on the path.

Let this be your gentle guide today.

Love & Create,
